The Accidental Growth Lid

What It Looks Like to Remove It!

A business owner creates an Accidental Growth Lid when they won't let go of the sales function in their business. This is an all-too-common entrepreneurial mistake. It not only affects the growth and valuation of their business, it often creates some personal challenges as well.

I have had far too many conversations with business owners about their lack of margin and time for the things and people they love. There is a lot of frustration about it to be sure. However, most entrepreneurs I've talked to simply consider it an acceptable cost of building a new business.

It doesn't have to be that way. You CAN be an entrepreneur and still make time for personal and mental health.

Consider our friend Manny (not his real name). He leads a really successful marketing firm that was growing at such a rate, it became difficult for him to follow up with new leads and referrals. His sales results were suffering as a result but he was also struggling in ways we didn't realize. He finally decided to partner with Altezza and get some relief on the sales front. Within a few months he was freed up to focus on his people and his clients in a more intentional fashion. He was also enjoying new sales momentum.

But that's not what caught my attention!

What was so fulfilling for me was unexpected. Manny invited his Altezza Sales Professional to attend an in-person team meeting. At some point during the meeting, Manny's wife came up to that salesperson and said, in effect...

What I love the most about what you've done for him is that he's not only more creative at work, he's more present... more available....and more engaged with his family. He was juggling so many things before that he couldn't keep up and it affected him at work and at home.

THIS is why I started Altezza and why our Ideal Client is the Founder/Business Owner who desperately wants to grow but doesn't have margin to truly OWN and not RUN their business. Being stuck in that rut doesn't just affect your business, it affects everyone in your life.

Stories like this are so inspirational for me and our entire team....a team that is motivated first and foremost by serving others.

So what about you? Is your inability to let go of sales and other aspects of your business affecting your engagement with the people who truly matter in your life? Have you asked them?

Let us help you do something about it!
